The PTSD Foundation of America has endorsed the support of the Katy Police Department who is hosting a fundraiser called SOS for Vets to support the PTSD Foundation of America.
Their mission is to bring hope and healing to Combat Veterans and their families suffering from the effects of combat-related Post Traumatic Stress. They attempt to bring healing by directly providing evidence-based peer-to-peer mentoring, both on an individual basis and in group settings. In addition to this, they provide interim housing to Combat Veterans who are going through their mentoring and group programs at no cost to the Veteran.
Through their work at Camp Hope and across the nation, they raise awareness of the increasing needs of the military community through their local and national outreach program.
Finally, they network with government agencies, service organizations, churches, and the private sector to combine resources and create a united "Corps of Compassion" network to meet the needs of the military community on a personal and individual/family level.
